DACES

DACES receive funding from the ESFA to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  As part of our enrolment process you will be required to show evidence of residency to check your eligibility for funding, as well as for ID checks. 

Adult learners aged 19+ - If you live in a devolved area you can enrol onto our courses online, over the phone or in centre, but full cost fees apply and we will contact you about any additional fees due.  You can check your eligibility for funding online    Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an active an EHC Plan - You can check your eligibility for funding online

Description

The course is aimed at learners with all levels of computer knowledge and understanding who want to develop their skills further. In addition the course aims to build your confidence, creativity and self-reliance in the use of digital technologies. This course offers you the opportunity to get an accreditation (qualification) at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.

You will learn:
A range of software packages and cover several modules including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Internet and Email.
There will be chance to ask questions and put what you have learned into practice. Your tutor will give you feedback during the course and you will be able to self-assess your progress and achievement.

Work outside of sessions:
All the skills developed in the classroom sessions will benefit from being practised at home or work and although this is not required you are likely to want to put what you have learned in practice. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session.

Additional costs and what to bring:
This course and the examination is free. Bring along a pen and paper so that you can make your own notes. Workbooks and handouts will be provided
