Welcome to a world of learning and courses that could change your life!
Here you can search for something to suit you. There's lots on offer. You can use the filter options to narrow things down. When you've found a course of interest just click on the title to find out more. And why not sign up to our monthly mailing list for our latest news, information and advice?
There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for Derbyshire residents. This often helps to keep costs very reasonable. In return we follow Government guidance:
-
By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
-
If you have any problems registering or enrolling online please email adult.education@derbyshire.gov.uk or call us on 01629 531241
-
Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
-
Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.
-
Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Technical
information about this website’s accessibility
Derbyshire Adult Community Education
is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public
Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility
Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA
standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content
listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Headings
On some pages there are no top-level headings. A
top-level heading helps screen reader users and search engines to know the
main topic of a page.
This doesn’t meet WCAG 2 success criterion 1.3.1 Information and
Relationships and 2.4.10 Section Headings.
When we publish new content, we’ll make sure our use of headings
meets accessibility standards.
Images
Some images contain text, so people with dyslexia or using a screen
reader will not be able to read the information. This doesn't meet WCAG 2
success criterion 1.4.5 (Images of Text). CAPTCHA Codes
CAPTCHA codes use images containing numbers with
generic "Alt Text". PDFs
Some current PDFs are using older formating and will be
amended in the near future. Google Maps
Google Maps contain "touch target" links that have
small text. Cookie Preferences
Cookie Preference selection have poor or missing focus
controls. Disproportionate burden
We don't categorise any of the accessibility issues on
https://courses.dacesglobal.net
as a disproportionate burden to
fix within the meaning of the regulations…
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The
accessibility regulations do
not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re
not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs
or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
What we’re doing to improve
accessibility
We are planning to improve our website
by doing the following:
·
Reviewing all images
·
Reviewing content
·
Reviewing display contrasts
