DACES

DACES receive funding from the ESFA to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  By registering/enrolling with us you are consenting to sharing your information with us and funding organisations in line with Government guidance for further education providers and you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions of enrolment. On an annual basis you will be required to show evidence of residency to check your eligibility for funding, as well as for ID checks. 

Adult learners aged 19+ If you live in a devolved area you can enrol online, over the phone or in centre, but full cost fees apply and we will contact you about any additional fees due (check your eligibility for funding online).    Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an active an EHC Plan (check your eligibility for funding online).

Description

The qualification contains units which are competence based and knowledge based. The qualification is structured in a way which means that all learners will have to complete a group of mandatory units, the content of which is required across any adult care or healthcare support role at level 2. In addition, there is a wide range of optional units to support areas of specialism including:
Learning disability services
End of life care
Dementia care
Residential care
Healthcare support

Who is this course for?
You will need to be working in a Health and Care setting as the course provides the knowledge and skills for workers who have roles with responsibilities for delivery of care and support such as:
Adult Care Worker
Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker
Personal Assistant

How will I learn?
You will attend a weekly class online on Teams. You will produce an online portfolio of evidence and your tutor will give you individual support and feedback on all the work you produce. Learners will have to do at least five hours of homework per week; this could be researching or reading relevant articles within health care, writing up work from your placement and work set from class.

What will I need?
You will need either a tablet, laptop or other computer with internet access to take part in the sessions via a Teams link and to complete your work.

Are there any other costs?
If you are working or unemployed, live in Derbyshire, and earn below £25,000.00 the course may be free.
