DACES

DACES receive funding from the ESFA to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  By registering/enrolling with us you are consenting to sharing your information with us and funding organisations in line with Government guidance for further education providers and you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions of enrolment. On an annual basis you will be required to show evidence of residency to check your eligibility for funding, as well as for ID checks. 

Adult learners aged 19+ If you live in a devolved area you can enrol online, over the phone or in centre, but full cost fees apply and we will contact you about any additional fees due (check your eligibility for funding online).    Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an active an EHC Plan (check your eligibility for funding online).

Description

All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning. This course will help you build your confidence with learning. This may include developing skills and knowledge to make improvements to your local environment. Your tutor will introduce you to what the course will cover at the start of the session. You may be working on different activities of walling such as, how to work safely, how to grade stone, how to repair and rebuild a dry stone wall to a good standard.

Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are a beginner or if you have done dry stone walling in the past. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.

How will I learn?
This is an outdoor course a mix of tutor-led, group and individual activities with guidance from your tutor. An opportunity to have a go at dry stone walling in a safe, friendly sociable environment. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

What will I need?
This course is practical and involves being outside. Please wear appropriate footwear such as steel toe capped boots and clothing appropriate for the weather. You may wish to bring your own gloves, however personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves and googles) will be supplied.
The course will be mostly practical, but you may want to bring something to make notes.

Are there any other costs?
This course is free and there are no other costs.
