DACES

DACES receive funding from the ESFA to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  By registering/enrolling with us you are consenting to sharing your information with us and funding organisations in line with Government guidance for further education providers and you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions of enrolment. On an annual basis you will be required to show evidence of residency to check your eligibility for funding, as well as for ID checks. 

Adult learners aged 19+ If you live in a devolved area you can enrol online, over the phone or in centre, but full cost fees apply and we will contact you about any additional fees due (check your eligibility for funding online).    Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an active an EHC Plan (check your eligibility for funding online).

Description

All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This course will help you to maintain or improve your physical health and wellbeing.
You will learn mindful movement and physical yoga postures or asana, simple breath awareness and breathing control exercises or pranayama, a variety of techniques to develop your concentration and meditation skills and how to apply these practices to everyday life to improve your overall physical and mental health.

Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are an adult with learning disabilities whether you are a beginner or if you have done cookery classes in the past. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.

How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

What will I need?
You will need to bring an apron you have provided yourself. You will also need to bring a container to take what you have cooked home in if you haven't eaten it in class. You may want to bring something to make notes.

Are there any other costs?
The course tuition is offered free of charge but there will be a small charge for ingredients of £4 each week, this is payable at reception. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. You must wear an apron you have provided yourself.
