Description
This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 20 units and a choice of optional units to make a total of 65 credits. Some of the units covered include: understand and promote child and young person development; understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people; assessment and planning with children and young people; professional practice in children and young people's social care.
Who is this course for?
Anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people's workforce.
You should hold maths and English qualifications at Level 2.
How will I learn?
You will attend a weekly class online on Teams or in centre. You will produce an online portfolio of evidence and your tutor will give you individual support and feedback on all the work you produce. Learners will have to do at least five hours of homework per week; this could be researching or reading relevant articles within health care, writing up work from your placement and work set from class.
What will I need?
You will need either a tablet, laptop or other computer with internet access to take part in the sessions and to complete your work.
Are there any other costs?
The course may be free if it is your first Level 3, or you are working, live in Derbyshire, and earn below £25,000.00 or are unemployed.
