Description
Start your teaching or training career with the Award in Education and Training
An ideal first step for those interested in delivering workplace training, or if you are an assessor or volunteer wanting to move into teaching in the adult sector. The course enables you to develop knowledge and practical skills needed to be able to deliver lessons or training sessions. Over three units, you will build up a portfolio of evidence and deliver a 'micro-teach', helping you to develop your presentation and teaching skills.
This Level 3 qualification will be delivered online, by Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES), self-paced with the support of a course tutor. It will take approximately 18 weeks to complete. Towards the end of the course you will complete a microteach session with other AET learners. This will likely be in person at The Hub, South Normanton.
To join the course you should have:
A clear subject specialism that you teach or wish to teach
A minimum of level 2 qualification in your specialist subject (or equivalent experience for non-qualification teaching)
English and maths qualifications at Level 2
Confidence in being able to access and use online course materials
Please note that if you wish to teach qualification courses (including English, maths and 14-19 programmes) with DACES, you would need to progress onto the CET Level 4 or higher.
This course will cost £550 including the accreditation fee.
