Welcome to a world of learning and courses that could change your life!

Here you can search for something to suit you.  There's lots on offer.  You can use the filter options to narrow things down.  When you've found a course of interest just click on the title to find out more. And why not sign up to our monthly mailing list for our latest news, information and advice?

There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  This often helps to keep costs very reasonable.  In return we follow Government guidance:

  • By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
  • If you have any problems registering or enrolling online please email adult.education@derbyshire.gov.uk or call us on 01629 531241
  • Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
  • Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course.  There may be other costs for materials etc.
  • Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Please note, we will be unable to take any payments for courses on 25th February 2025, sorry for any inconvenience.

Description

All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This course will help build parenting skills and give you the confidence to support your children's learning.
Join us for a fun-filled session where you and your child can explore the exciting connection between music and numbers! Together, you'll count beats, discover rhythm and recognise tones all while enhancing your maths skills. Help your child to experience the joy of learning through music.

This course is for you if you are a parent, grandparent and or carer, of children aged 3 and above. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.

This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities for you to do as a family with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities and individual work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

No equipment is required as instruments will be provided. You may want to bring something to make notes.

This course is free and there are no other costs.

Your tutor will talk to you about what you could do next. Visit our course search on our website for whats's on offer. Look out for posters and pick up a brochure from your local centre.
