Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.
Please note, we will be unable to take any payments for courses on 25th February 2025, sorry for any inconvenience.

Description
All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven ‘purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning. Are you wanting to develop your use of a sewing machine, or would you prefer to hand stitch? This course will give you all you need to get going on sewing items for your home. This course will help you to become an active member of your local community
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to stitch items for the home such as cushion covers, cosies, draught excluders, quilts. You can chose the projects that best suit you. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. You will learn many skills including pinning, stitching, seams and hems and many others. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You may want to bring your own sewing machine but don't worry if you don't have one as we have our own. You may want to bring something to make notes.
Are there any other costs?
This course is free and there are no other costs.
