Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.
Please note, we will be unable to take any payments for courses on 25th February 2025, sorry for any inconvenience.

Description
All our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This Brightside course will help you to maintain or improve your mental health and wellbeing. Try something new, rediscover an old interest or take up a new hobby. Learning can be fun, boost your self-confidence, self-esteem, help to find meaning and purpose in life, and connect with others.
Art journalling is used as a way of developing art skills whilst working on your well-being and can be used daily as a part of your self-care practice. This course will teach you new skills and develop existing ones, giving you an opportunity to harness your creativity in a way which can be relaxing and therapeutic.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you feel that you have a mild to moderate difficulty with your mental health, if you are creative or would like to be able to express yourself through art. It is also for those who feel they need to improve their well-being by learning some mindfulness through art expression. Our tailored learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over. How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. The tutor will guide you and prompt you with practical activities, explanations and examples. You will work individually, but as part of a small group. You will be able to continue to work on your art journalling at home, in your own time. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
The tutor will supply all resources but you may want to bring a notebook in order to make notes. If you have any of your own supplies which you prefer to use, eg. scissors, paints, brushes, pens and pencils, you may also bring those to the sessions.
Are there any other costs?
This course is free and there are no other costs.
