Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.
Please note, we will be unable to take any payments for courses on 25th February 2025, sorry for any inconvenience.

By continuing you confirm that you are enrolling onto an adult learning course and that you are aged 19 or over on 1 September 2024, or you are enrolling a young person aged 14-18 on 31 August 2024 specifically onto one of our Study Programme courses, and that you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Description
Helping others is one of the five ways to wellbeing. These are 5 steps you can take to help improve your mental health and wellbeing. The others are connect, be active, take notice and keep learning. Volunteering is a great way of doing most of these. Volunteers are important. They support people in Derbyshire in a variety of different ways. You might want to help with a youth group, sports club, befriending service, day centre or local community group. About the Volunteer Passport The Volunteer Passport is a 10-hour course delivered by Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES). It can be run over several weeks. It looks at key topics all volunteers need to be aware of. These include: • equality, diversity and inclusion • health and safety • keeping yourself and others safe • first aid awareness • the person-centred approach Everyone who completes the course gets an accredited certificate
Who is this course for?
You could be an experienced volunteer who already gives several hours a week. Or you could be thinking about volunteering for the first time. You don't need any qualifications to come on a course.
How will I learn?
You will learn in a classroom in a safe environment with a small group of learners with similar experience. This is an informal course and you will be supported by your tutor to progress at your own pace.
What will I need?
You will need to bring a pen and will be supported to complete your Volunteer Passport file during each session.
