Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Description
All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning. This course will help prepare you for further learning, either with us or with other learning providers.
Your tutor will help you improve your sewing machine and creative stitching skills such as, straight and zig-zag stitches, stopping stitches from unravelling and fabric from fraying, pinning, stitching hems and seams. Setting your sewing machine up for free machine embroidery, which is often called drawing with thread, you can use this technique if you wish. You will work on your own projects including a faux chenille panel, a winter landscape and an appliquéd bag or bunting.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are a beginner or have sewing machine experience. If you are thinking about buying a sewing machine or already have a machine and are not sure how to use it, or want to learn more creative techniques with it. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based workshop. There will be many practical activities with guidance from your tutor. You will be given group tasks and can work on your own projects in a friendly, sociable environment. You will be given support and feedback from your tutor so you can improve.
What will I need?
You can bring your own sewing machine, or you can use one of our sewing machines. You may want to bring something to make notes.
