Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description
All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven'‘purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This course will help you to maintain or improve your mental health and wellbeing.
You will develop knowledge and skills in tools, materials, and a range of different textile techniques. You will be given opportunity to experiment with fabric, threads, and colours to create your own textile art designs using a range of hand stitches.
Textile art can promote relaxation, mindfulness, and a sense of accomplishment, providing an outlet for self-expression and emotional well-being.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are a beginner or if you have done textile classes in the past. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. You will be working on your own or set projects with advice, support, and encouragement from your tutor. You will do occasional one-off workshops on a particular textile art technique including design, hand embroidery stitches, applique, mixed media, printing, felting, finishing something different each term. You will be given support and feedback from your tutor so you what to do to improve. All aspects of work are approached with appropriate Health and Safety guidelines in mind.
What will I need?
Feel free to bring along any basic sewing materials you may already have. Your tutor will discuss any further materials you may need to provide at your first session. We do encourage the recycling of materials to keep costs down to a minimum.
There are no extra costs to the advertised course cost.
