There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for Derbyshire residents.  This often helps to keep costs very reasonable.  In return we follow Government guidance:

  • By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
  • Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
  • Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course.  There may be other costs for materials etc.
  • Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description

All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This course will develop your understanding of autism and explain some of the strengths and challenges often experienced by autistic people.??
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects around 2% of the population.? It can affect how a person perceives the world, interacts and socialises with others.
Autism awareness and acceptance is crucial to help us become more inclusive and embrace the strengths and challenges of every autistic individual we teach, mentor, work with parent or care for. The more we understand autisim the more we can challenge common stereotypes around autistic people, recognise how to make environments more accessible and open a wealth of learning opportunities and positive life chances for autistic people.
Developing understanding and offering practical support are small changes that can make a big difference and impact on the lives of autistic people, their families, carers and support workers.
Come along to this session to recognise different aspects/traits of autism and understand how these aspects/traits may impact on daily life.?
