Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description
All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven ‘purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning.
This course is for women who would like to learn the basic principles of dry stone walling in a safe and supportive environment. You will learn how to work safely; grade stone; how to set out to build a wall; lay foundations; build the first and second lift, pack the middle correctly; coping the wall and finishing and how to build a dry stone wall to a good standard.
Who is this course for?
This course is for women with little or no experience of dry stone walling, who want to gain the outline knowledge and skills to build dry stone walls. You will learn the basic skills required to build a section of wall in the local style, from start to finish.
Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a practical course taking place outside on our training walls. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities and individual work under supervision from the tutor.
What will I need?
Please wear appropriate footwear such as steel toe capped boots and clothing appropriate for the weather. You may wish to bring your own gloves, however personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves and goggles) will be supplied.
