Description
This course is for people who work with children in educational settings in support staff roles that directly support teaching and learning e.g. teaching assistants or learning support assistants. This course will give an introduction into the role of support staff within the school setting.

Entry Requirements
You should hold a level 1 Maths and English qualification.
You will need to attend a school placement of 5 hours per week.
What you will learn
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.
How you will learn
You will attend a weekly class either online or in centre. You will produce an online portfolio of evidence and your tutor will give you individual support and feedback on all the work you produce. Learners will have to do at least five hours of homework per week; this could be researching or reading relevant articles within childcare, writing up work from your placement and work set from class.
What you will need
You will need a laptop or other computer with internet access to complete your work for this course, if your class is remote attendance you will need to attend weekly via Teams.
