Description
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years.
Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as early years educators.
Who is this course for
Anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people's workforce.
Entry Requirements
To join this course you should have a Level 2 Childcare qualification and at least one year's recent experience of working or volunteering with children. You should also have English and maths at Level 2 or above.
You will need to have a placement organised before applying for the course.
What you will learn
You will be required to complete a minimum of 10 units and a choice of optional units to make a total of 95 credits. Some of the units covered include: understand and promote child and young person development; understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people; assessment and planning with children and young people; professional practice in children and young people's social care.
How you will learn
You will attend a weekly class online on Teams or in centre. You will produce an online portfolio of evidence and your tutor will give you individual support and feedback on all the work you produce. Learners will have to do at least five hours of homework per week; this could be researching or reading relevant articles within health care, writing up work from your placement and work set from class.
