Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description
This free, fun and friendly course helps you to take care of your wellbeing whilst also learning to play guitar. It's great for beginners or anyone picking up the guitar again after a break. You'll learn at your own pace, with easy weekly lessons and simple, mindful exercises. As you play, you'll feel more focused, less stressed, and more confident—both in everyday life and in music . There's no pressure and no need to be perfect. Just enjoy the music and feel better, one note at a time.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are a beginner or if you have played guitar before. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities, individual work and group work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
Guitars will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you have one. You may want to bring something to make notes.
Are there any other costs?
This course is free and there are no other costs.
Additional Information
Your tutor will talk with you about what you could do next. You can only complete two Brightside courses in total. Once you have completed these Brightside courses you can have a £50 voucher towards your next mainstream course. Visit our course search on our website for what's on offer.
