There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) residences, this includes Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas. Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description
Discover something new, rekindle a forgotten passion, or explore a fresh hobby. Learning can be enjoyable and rewarding — it can boost your confidence, strengthen your self esteem, bring meaning and purpose to your life, and help you connect with others.
This course is ideal if you'd like to experiment with a variety of textile crafts and stitching techniques. You'll build your skills in both hand stitching and sewing machine use.
As part of the Brightside programme, this course is designed to support your mental health and overall wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous textile experience who wish to support or improve their mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be many practical activities with guidance from your tutor. You will be given various tasks and can work on your own projects. You will be given support and feedback from your tutor so you can improve.
What will I need?
If you wish to bring your own sewing machine do, or you can use one of ours.
You may wish to have a folder to store handouts, notes or your work.
