There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) residences, this includes Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas.  This often helps to keep costs very reasonable.  In return we follow Government guidance:

  • By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
  • Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
  • Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course.  There may be other costs for materials etc. 
  • Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description

Come and explore different cultures through food. You will have the opportunity to create some cultural dishes and also share your own culture with the group. Cultural food represents the traditions, history, and identity of a community, often influenced by local geography, climate, and available ingredients. Food is a fundamental part of any culture and can bring people together and create a sense of community.

You will get helpful tips, try out quick recipes and build confidence in the kitchen. Learn in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who would like to improve their basic cooking skills, and learn to cook different cultural food. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over. This course is supported learning friendly.

How will I learn?
This course will be delivered within our kitchen classroom with practical activities. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

What will I need?
It would be beneficial to bring a lunch box to carry any food home. It would also be useful to bring a pen and paper to make notes.

This course is free there are no extra costs
