There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) residences, this includes Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas.  This often helps to keep costs very reasonable.  In return we follow Government guidance:

  • By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
  • Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
  • Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course.  There may be other costs for materials etc. 
  • Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description

"This 1.5 hour Brightside taster session will give you the chance to use movement and gentle exercise as a calm and supportive way to look after yourself and build confidence. It is designed for people with mild to moderate mental ill health who want to explore how light physical activity can help them feel more relaxed, improve their mood, and support their overall wellbeing. You'll take part in a few simple, low?impact exercises and get a clear idea of what a full Brightside yoga course would be like. You don't need any experience or special clothing, just comfortable clothes and an open mind.
This session is for you if you're experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and would like to support your wellbeing through gentle movement. It's suitable if you're feeling stressed, anxious, or low in mood, or if you want to build confidence in a calm, friendly environment. You don't need any previous experience, and all activities are low?impact and easy to follow.
You will learn through gentle, guided yoga movements in a calm and supportive environment. The session is led at a relaxed pace, with clear guidance and options to suit your needs. You'll have time to slow down, focus on your breathing, and notice how gentle movement can help you feel more relaxed and settled.
You'll just need to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. No special equipment or previous experience is needed. Please bring water if you wish.
