There are some other bits we need to tell you as we get funding from the Government to provide courses for East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) residences, this includes Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas.  This often helps to keep costs very reasonable.  In return we follow Government guidance:

  • By enrolling you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and we may share your details with other education providers. This is likely to depend on the type of course chosen.
  • Each year we'll check your proof of residency in Derbyshire and entitlement to possible funding
  • Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course.  There may be other costs for materials etc. 
  • Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description

This online 2?hour Brightside taster session will give you a chance to explore ways of looking after yourself and building confidence. Designed for people with mild to moderate mental ill health, the session focuses on simple, practical activities that help you relax, feel more in control, and strengthen your sense of wellbeing. You'll be able to try a few gentle techniques and get a clear idea of what a full Brightside course would be like. Learn gentle, simple, and practical calming strategies to support your mental wellbeing, including self-care techniques such as hand massage, head massage, and connecting with the natural environment.

Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you would like to boost your mental wellbeing. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire aged 19 and over.

How will I learn?
This is an online course. There will be activities and discussions with guidance from your tutor. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

What will I need?
You will need a laptop, tablet or Smartphone and internet access to be able to take this course. You will be part of a live class, with a tutor, but with everyone doing the lessons from their own home. We will send you an email at least 48 hours before your course is due to start with link to join the course.

Are there any other costs?
This is a free course and there are no further costs.
