Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Description
This 2 hour Brightside taster session will give you a chance to try creative writing as a gentle way to support your wellbeing. It's designed for people with mild to moderate mental ill health who want to use creative activities to relax, feel calmer, and look after themselves. This relaxed creative writing taster and explore the theme of Flight through fun, short writing activities. No experience needed, just come along and give it a try.
Your writing can be entered into the Ilkeston Community Theatre and Festival Creative Writing Competition, which is free to enter and includes the chance to win a prize.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you enjoy writing or would like to try something new in a relaxed and supportive setting. It's suitable for you if you have mild to moderate mental ill health, or if you're simply looking to boost your wellbeing, confidence, and creativity. No previous writing experience is needed.
How will I learn?
You will learn through relaxed, guided writing activities, short prompts and gentle discussion. You can work at your own pace, share your ideas if you want to and learn by doing in a supportive environment. There's no pressure and no assessments, just a chance to explore writing and enjoy being creative.
What will I need?
You don't need to bring anything special. Just bring yourself, a willingness to have a go, and something to write with if you'd like. All materials will be provided, and you're welcome to join in at your own pace.
This course is free. There are no additional costs.
