Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Description
This is a supportive, creative programme designed to boost mental wellbeing through the calming and expressive world of textile crafts. You are invited to explore a range of gentle, hands-on activities—such as sewing, embroidery and simple upcycling projects—within a relaxed, friendly space.
The sessions focus on creativity as a tool for wellbeing, helping individuals slow down, connect with others, and build confidence through making. No previous crafting experience is needed; each activity is guided step-by-step, allowing everyone to work at their own pace and enjoy the uplifting benefits of textiles.
As part of the Brightside programme, this course is designed to support your mental health and overall wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous textile experience who wish to support or improve their mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be many practical activities with guidance from your tutor. You will be given various tasks and can work on your own projects.
What will I need?
If you wish to bring your own sewing machine do, or you can use one of ours.
You may wish to have a folder to store handouts, notes or your work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
Are there any other costs?
This is a free course and there are no further costs.
