Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Learners under 19, or up to 24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) should chat to us or take a look here to check elibility for funding.

Description
In this session, you will learn and apply the skills of creating a decorative terracotta tile using different methods. You'll learn ‘slip' decoration, where you can create decorative patterns and textures in liquid clay before the tile is fired. Also, ‘masking' areas off on the tile which are not to be coloured, creating a contrast with the natural colour of the tile.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you, if you haven't attended Brightside pottery before. Brightside is for anyone experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health. Brightside courses give you the tools and support to manage your worries and live a happier, more balanced life. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. You may wish to wear an apron. You may want to bring something to make notes.
