Adult learners aged over 19 years will generally pay full cost fees unless booking onto a free course. There may be other costs for materials etc.

Description
This two-hour online taster session introduces you to the creative art of stitched seascapes. Using simple hand-stitching techniques, you'll create your own unique coastal-inspired piece while enjoying a calming and rewarding creative experience.
Stitched seascapes are an accessible and relaxing craft activity that encourages creativity, mindfulness, and self-expression. The gentle, repetitive nature of hand stitching can help reduce stress, promote relaxation, and quiet a busy mind. Focusing on each stitch allows you to be present in the moment, offering a meditative break from everyday distractions while exploring your artistic side in a supportive and enjoyable way.
Who is this course for?
Adults aged 19 and over who live in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who want to improve and/or maintain their mental wellbeing.
How will I learn?
There will be activities and discussions with guidance from your tutor. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You will need a laptop, tablet or Smartphone and internet access to be able to take this online course. You will be part of a live class, with a tutor, but with everyone doing the lessons from their own home. We will send you an email at least 48 hours before your course is due to start with a link to join the course.
You will also need fabric scraps in ocean colours, which can include lace and yarns.
A small piece of plain cotton fabric for the sky, and any paints you have available to colour it (not all paints are required).
White thread - regular and/or embroidery thread.
A hand sewing needle.
Optional: If you have a sewing machine, you can use that. Helen will demonstrate both machine sewing and hand stitching.
